PROJECT
FINISHED
The project is addressed to VET2 students of the families of Electricity and Electronics, Maintenance, and Wood and Carpentry. Through this project we want our students to get in contact with new technologies in the areas of their studies, and with a working and industrial environment very different from the one they can find in Majorca, where the industrial sector is rather limited. Besides furthering their professional and technical competence, through this project we want to help the students to live the reality of Europe, to promote the exchange at a personal and professional level and to eliminate the barriers that come from the fact of living on an island. Our project partners are two schools, the BBZ am Nord-Ostsee Kanal in Rendsburg (Germany) and UMSZKI in Budapest (Hungary), two schools which offer training in areas similar to ours. We started our cooperation with Rendsburg five years ago, and due to the close collabotarion relationship that we have developed over the years, the mechanisms of work, organisation and management are well established. With this project we begin our cooperation with UMSZKI, a school of wide experience in the field of European projects, and we expect to achieve such optimal results as in the case of Rendsburg.During two years, we intend to send four students on placement to Budapest and four to Rendsburg, as well as two teachers to each place. At the same time we will be receiving students and teachers from both countries. In the case of students it is a big challenge for our school to offer them the possibility of a working experience abroad and to fight against their reluctancy to leave the island and work in a different working environment. In the case of teachers, we have seen that their involvement and participation is fundamental, not only because of the improvement in their training and motivstion levels, but for the impact it has on their students at all levels. We have observed that carrying out placements in companies abroad has a very positive effect on the curricula of our students, on their chances to get a job and to continue with their training, either in their own country or abroad, apart from contributing to the improvement of their language skills, improve their integration and develop a spirit of Europe.
