Context, number and profile of participants:
This project is carried out in a professional training institute within the Autonomous Community of Madrid and is for students enrolled in the second year educational programmes offered at our Centre: Electromechanics and Vehicle Body Repair. The following Departments from our Centre are involved in the project:
-Executive team
-Automation
-Work Orientation and Training (Coordination)
A total of 4 students from the previously mentioned programmes will be grant recipients. The students’ level of education, before completing this educational programme, measures up to the Compulsory Secondary Education level, and their ages vary between 17 and 25 years old.
The activities will consist of a working apprenticeship that will be completed by our students in the city of Saint Maximin, Picardie (France), Lycee Professional Rothschild being our host partner. Having previously worked with our European partner successfully with the Erasmus programme during the academic year of 2010 and 2011 and with the Leonardo programme in 2012 and 2013, we are sure to have excellent working relations and superior quality apprenticeships. The students’ apprenticeship period shall take place from March to June 2015, with 80 days for the students and 8 days for school staff escorts.
The methodology implemented in carrying out this project is based on the continuous collaboration between our Centre, the French host, Lycee, and the French apprenticeship companies, with the purpose of achieving the ultimate quality in the Mobility programmes, and allowing the students to integrate themselves during the apprenticeship period in a productive and working system related to the studies they have completed.
To guarantee this, a follow up and monitoring process of the students in collaboration with the companies, Coordination department (Spain) and the Apprentice Coordinator in Spain, whom will make three separate trips to France, one at the start, half-way point and end of the apprenticeship period. The students shall participate in an intensive French language and culture course beforehand.
In the selection process of the programme participants, the methodology implemented will be based on transparency and equal opportunities.
Foreseen results and impacts:
We consider that the participation in a European learning programme, and therefore the completion of an apprenticeship abroad, will fulfil the educational requirements of our students surrounding technical, professional and personality aspects, and also improving and increasing their possibilities of entry into the Labour market, giving the students the following benefits:
-Knowledge and utilisation of professional techniques and different job processes.
-Improvement in abilities to assimilate, understand and adapt to a different linguistic, educative and work environment.
-Expand adaptability and problem-solving skills in taking on new situations.
-Develop their entrepreneurial capabilities.
-Improvement of their linguistic and technological capabilities.
-Develop their ability to work in a team with persons of different nationalities.
Apart from all of the aforementioned, the project will also provide the following long-term benefits:
-Improve the professional competence of our students to facilitate their entry into the Labour market, giving them the opportunity to complete their apprenticeships in a foreign country.
-Give the students valuable work experience in the current work field taking into account the added value gained from the international character through the experience.
-Contribute to the improvement of the learning and teaching of languages and promotion of the wide linguistic diversity of the European Union and the intercultural awareness.
-Internationalise our Centre’s educative dimensions.
-Open doors to future innovative and exchange programs.
-Improve the position of our Centre in the education system.
-Promote the exchange of experiences, innovation and the internationalization in the education field through cooperation between our Centre and other educational centres in the European Union.
-Promote the organization and collaboration between the educational and work fields through the development and improvement of the relationship between our educational Centre and the companies from the host countries and our students.
