Subject:
Our proposal aims to develop a pedagogy of local mobility. We will be creating a diagnostic tool to develop individual training plans and also provide the approriate training.
Rationale:
Intra-Community mobility is a priority in all European countries, and European projects such as Erasmus or Leonardo developed this and fostered public awareness of the issue.
Our experiments and investigations show that the mobility (local and regional) remains difficult, especially for the most vulnerable population groups. It impedes access to mainstream education and can prevent people remaining in schools, it hinders positive career choices, socio-professional integration and is a barrier to education and lifelong learning.
Description of the tool:
In fact it is a set of results.
- The first result will be a repository of skills for mobility.
- Based on this framework, a diagnostic tool will be developed. This is an online tool with more than 100 items to identify strengths and barriers to a person’s mobility. Some items are closed yes / no questions, others offer several answers. The software will generate a report based on the selected answers. This assessment will result in an individualized training plan and individualized support for mobility.
To produce the resulting course we will develop a toolbox offering exercises for all objectives of the mobility repository.
The innovative aspect is to provide a coherent set with: basic data repository, diagnostic tool, a plan of action and suggested appropriate training.
in addition to this set there will be a training module on how to use the tool.
There will be versions in EN, DE, FR and PT.
Consortium:
The consortium includes 7 partners from 5 countries (BE, FR, LU, PT, DE) comprising people involved in mainstream education, (EQF levels 1 to 5), adult education, teacher training and specialists in the creation and dissemination of teaching aids.
The psychology faculty of a university provides scientific back-up for our method.
Target audience:
The tool is intended for the most fragile pupils in secondary schools and vocational schools and young trainees in vocational training.
Impacts :
The composition of the consortium will ensure a direct impact with the partners’ target audiences:
La Coupole includes partners in employment and training and can easily reach the target groups. The Academy of Reims (Reims education authority) will use it for all pupils enrolled in their integration system to prevent pupils from dropping out of school (a potential of 15,000 young people). In Luxembourg, the SNJ offers guidance to young people nationwide entering the workplace. ABU Berlin offers vocational training and educational support to 800 students and is very much involved in various networks. The University of Porto has excellent contacts with national education and works directly with two schools that will use the tool. All skills related to mobility are multidisciplinary and fall within the scope of key skills for lifelong learning. This is a secondary impact of the project.
In 2013 the Euro Cordiale website received 147,845 visits from 194 countries with a bandwidth of 12,358 Gb, which shows the considerable potential impact when the tool is put online.
