Motivate Children from below EU average GDP countries to love swimming
Start date: Jan 1, 2017, End date: Dec 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED 

The main scope of the project is to multilevel promote the sport of swimming and to overcome barriers of participation among children and young people living in disadvantaged and underprivileged geographical areas in low than average GDP European countries. The project aims at offering a new methodology in the field of sports education based on a collaborative-integrated approach between holders of practical knowledge (coaches, trainers) and holders of theoretical knowledge (academic researchers) during the mobility Workshop “SWIMwin". The main objectives of the project are: 1. To inspire local communities with limited physical and or financial access to both pools and water improving the evidence-base of sport to tackle societal and economic challenges;2. To encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities in swimming; 3. To create innovative activities making swimming fun to learn; 4. To transfer and exchange innovative knowledge to test children swimming skills and knowledge aiming to increase their swimming performance; 5. To increase knowledge of swimming trainers through the promotion, identification ad sharing good practices of coach leadership style that motivates children to swim;6. To raise awareness among children, parents and local communities of the importance and the benefits of swimming through innovative synergies between sport and health, education, training and youth;7. To bring together based collaborative- integrated approach holders of practical (coaches/trainers) and holders of theoretical knowledge (academics); 8. To support the mobility of coaches, athletes, managers of non-profit swimming clubs;9. To promote the health and the social benefits that community swimming pools can have within local communities among stakeholders networking at local, national, and european level.The milestones of the project are: the 3 day local camps; the mobility workshop; the festival and the conference SWIMwin.
