The project „ Mobile mechanic in the European market” will be implemented during the period 1.06.15–1.06.16. As part of the project, 34 students from Technical College in ZS im. Marsz. J.Piłsudskiego in Szczuczyn will undergo a 3-week-vocational training program in a car repair workshop in Italy. The organization (partner) in Italy which is responsible for preparation and execution of the tasks entrusted is CSCS with a registered office in Pistoia. The project activities related to mobility will be preceded by an English course and the preparation in the field of cultural differences. The implementation of the vocational training program will be held in 2 rounds. 15 top students together with 2 counsellors (grades and attendance will be taken into consideration ) will be qualified to take part in the vocational training which will be held in September and October 2015. Next 19 students with 2 counsellors will participate in the vocational training in January and February 2016.
The main objectives of the project:
- students support in the acquisition of competences (knowledge, skills and attitude in order to broaden their opportunities of personal development and increase their chance in being employed in the European labour market and outside its borders as well,
- increase the participants language skills (English and Italian),
- increase the attractiveness and the international prospects of gaining knowledge in Technical College in Zespół Szkół in Szczuczyn
In addition to this:
- improvement of academic achievements,
- increased chance in finding a job and better career prospects
- increase the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship,
- increase the self-empowerment and self-esteem,
- increase the intercultural awareness,
- active participation in a social life,
- raise awareness of European projects and the European Union,
- increase the motivation to participate in education and training after the period spent abroad,
- students gain new vocational experience and skills required in an international labour environment,
- increase the attractiveness of vocational training, education and mobility in the labour market; including the adaptation the vocational education to the requirements to the labour market,
- awareness of the need for further training and development,
- broaden and deepen the theoretical knowledge gained at school,
- gain confidence,
- learn about the culture and customs of an another country,
- increase openness and mobility.
During the vocational training its participants will get an insight into the foreign labour market and they will learn the methods of working in the particular profession. What is more, they will use modern software supporting the work of a car mechanic. An additional element which is considered to be an added value is the fact that the participants will get to know a European country, its culture and the basics of the Italian language.
The program can be divide into:
1. Vocational training
2. Learning Italian language
3. Participants will familiarize themselves with the culture, language and the history of the country
During participants stay, the counsellors will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the scheduled plan. Furthermore, they will play a supportive role in terms of methodology and communication for young people (vocational teachers, English teacher).
At the end of the project, there will be a report written which is going to present the effects of the project. That is to say, the above mentioned report will give answers to the following questions: has the level of vocational skills of the participants raised significantly, has the level of English and Italian improved, have the participants been satisfied with the foreign vocational training and the conditions of their stay, etc. Moreover, the certificates issued by the companies, where the vocational training is going be held, will be of a great importance. Needless to say, Europass Mobility certificates are also very valuable.
As far as the execution of the project is concerned, the participants will develop the ability to communicate in English (including the basics of Italian). Secondly, through the exchange of experience and labour standards in the automotive factories located in Italy, the participants will increase their skills in the terms of a car repair and automotive mechanics. Finally, due to experience gained abroad, the participants will learn new skills, develop interpersonal skills and increase the level of competitiveness in the labour market
The results of the project (information concerning project, reports, photos) will be disseminated on the information board at the school premises, on the school, the City Council and the Poviat Starosty websites. What is more, on behalf of the partner, it will be published: on CSCS website (5000 visitors/month), in a printed bi-monthly magazine sent to all members of the organization (1200 people) and at the Annual General Assembly.
