Mobility for Fun, Learning and Employment is a multi partner youth worker mobility project to take place in Galway, Ireland 1st-3rd December 2015.
The Activity seeks to highlight the transferability of youth mobility outcomes to employability of young people. The current rate of youth unemployment is very high in many of the participating countries Spain and Greece, quite high in others such as Ireland with two partners Austria and Germany having the lowest rates of youth unemployment in the EU. All of the partners are involved in youth mobility activities in their regions and are interested in taking time to examine the possibilities of Erasmus+ to enhance the employability of young people.
33 participants will come from 18 partner organizations, including Novgorod in Russia, with 2 expert facilitators from the UK.
The main Activity is a 3 day face-to-face event in Galway City on the West Coast of Ireland. The objective of the Activity is : To look at possibilities to bring added benefit to young people from youth mobility projects in the field of employability; To examine opportunities in Erasmus+ to provide labour market relevant skills and To inititiate new projects, with an increased focus on employability, will be proposed by the end of the 3 days together.
It is intended to use mixed methods with creative sessions, small group work, evaluation of partner activities in 2014, intercultural learning opportunity, site visits to relevant youth projects in Galway City and formal meeting setting. Some online work will be required of partners prior to arrival in Galway. The proposed timetable will be finalized at a meeting in Galway in June 2015 of 3 partners to this Activity.
It is expected that partners will equipped to make more strategic use of Erasmus+ to support the employability of young people as well as building on their learning from peers, the presentations and site visits while in Galway. The medium term goal is to improve the life situation of individual young people in our respective regions, through increased youth mobility 2016 with a longer term goal of lowering the rate of youth unemployment.
