PROJECT
FINISHED
The objectives described in the application aimed at the training of students and as a matter of priority the acquisition of linguistic, professional, cultural and citizen skills and the development of personality. Our objectives were also focused on the promotion of our trainings in vocational high school by means of an added value to the BTEC National .At last they aimed at the offer to the local firms of a potential of professionals endowed with specific skills answering their needs. The mobility experience reinforced the expected results.
This project concerned 35 students coming from our seven fields of professional training( 32 students coming from the 2 nd year of BTEC national and 3 others coming from the last year of BTEC national.) ; the key action was carried out in the form of a four week training period within the statutory framework of the compulsory periods of training in a professional field. Moreover in the context of reciprocity with our vocational high school partners, we allowed students coming from Ljubljana and Zagreb to live their mobility experience within Brest area.
The expected results can come in 3 different aspects:
Added value for our students: this project aimed at young people who for different reasons are not used to travelling or are not tempted by experiences abroad. Our project gave them this opportunity because our school organized this project and set up accompanying measures such as a linguistic and cultural training and an important financial support. In this way they acquired useful skills for their future professional integration such as a mobility spirit, an ability of adaptation to a socio-professional field with a different culture, the discovery of skills required by professionals in Europe, the practice and improvement of a foreign language, the use in a relevant way of the TICE ( technologies of information and communication for the Education),tools today necessary in the professional world, the affirmation of personality, self-esteem, capacity for taking initiatives and for getting a sense of responsibility.
Each student received a training period certificate recognizing the validity of the mobility for all the training periods in companies that are compulsory to get the diploma, moreover all the students have been assessed in their host country for the first part of the optional test of mobility.
Added value for our vocational high school: this project strengthened the European dynamic within our school .Moreover in a quality procedure, our project offered the trainees an increase in value for their diploma, in conformity with our concern for equality of opportunity. It favoured the development of a suitable educational procedure to adapt to current economic needs and it allowed us to develop and maintain structures of partnership already established to a local, regional and European level.
Benefits for the opposing companies and partners: thanks to our students,18 European companies discovered different expertises, they understood better our “Qualycée and Lycée des Métiers” labels ( specific labels given to some schools for the quality of their training and their environment) and some of our trainings. This project allowed us to develop and maintain our network in Europe and to mutualise some skills with 5 intermediary partners (Suzanne Sparrow Plymouth Language School in Plymouth, I-Tesla High School in Zagreb in Croatia, Zespol Technicznych Szkol in Bytom in Poland, Vegova High School in Ljubljana in Slovenia and Solski Center school in Novo Mesto in Slovenia. Il will allow local companies to recruit a staff with a direct knowledge of the European context.
The impact of this experience was positive for the partners as a whole thanks to fruitful exchanges that allowed a mutual enrichment and the discovery of new approaches , an opening to new work methods and values, an encouragement to the use of a foreign language for the teachers who don’t teach a foreign language.
All this contributes to the reinforcement of our network of European partners who make sure to give an appropriate answer to the needs of our students in terms of training.
