The EU and its member states, including Slovenia, are increasingly recognizing the role of social entrepreneurship in creating a more inclusive society, generating social innovation and tackling social problems (such as youth unemployment). Slovenia has implemented a policy to promote social entrepreneurship, but a supportive environment, as in most other countries, is rather weak and fragmented, especially in the field of social entrepreneurship education. Therefore, the consortium (coordinator Youth Council of Slovenia, UL, Croatian Youth Network and CDCD) identified central needs in this field as follows: (1) the need for more systematic and continuous social entrepreneurship education in Slovenia and other EU countries and (2) the need for a comprehensive educational module for youth trainers to teach social entrepreneurship, that will allow them to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to implement quality trainings on social entrepreneurship for young people. On the basis of identified needs, the central objectives of the project are:- To establish a partnership in the field of social entrepreneurship education among project partners and stakeholders (experts) from Slovenia and other EU countries;- To use established partnership for the production of knowledge and expertise for the purpose of development of social entrepreneurship education;- To develop the concept of educational module for youth trainers to teach/train on social entrepreneurship;- To develop a (proposal of) strategy proposal for the systematisation and securing continuous social entrepreneurship education in Slovenia, which will also serve as a reference point for partner countries and in other EU Member States. For the purpose of the realization of the project aims and objectives, the consortium decided that the project will be divided into two intertwined pillars:Pillar A - practical pillar; under which the activities and the events will lead to the creation of the concept of educational module for youth trainers to teach/train on social entrepreneurship.Pillar B - strategic / policy pillar within which the activities and the events leading to the preparation of the strategy proposal for the systematisation of social entrepreneurship education.Within the A-pillar we will first conduct two analyses: (1) Identification and analysis of the competencies and skills required for social entrepreneurship, and (2) Examples of best practice cases of social entrepreneurship education in selected EU countries. These analysis, as well as insights and new knowledge gained from the study visit in Croatia will form a knowledge base for the organization and implementation of the event Expert Forum I, which will bring together stakeholders for the purpose of developing a comprehensive educational module. On this basis and on the basis of expert discussion on the final project conference the final version of the module will be prepared.Within the Pillar B an in-depth analysis of the systematization of social entrepreneurship education in partner countries and selected EU member states will be carried out. The analysis and knowledge gained through the study visit to Croatia will serve as a knowledge base for the organization and implementation of the event Expert Forum II. The latter will enable key stakeholders and experts to develop fundamental elements of the strategy proposal for the systematisation of social entrepreneurship education. On this basis and on the basis of expert discussion on the final conference of the project the final version of the strategy will be prepared.Target groups of the project that will be directly addressed are: stakeholders in the field of youth, education and employment. Moreover, individuals in the field of education for social will also be directly addressed. Target groups that will be indirectly addressed through the project are young people, the interested public and the wider public, mainly for the purpose to raise their awareness on the importance of social entrepreneurship. The impact of the project will be multiple. Established partnership between the project partners and relevant stakeholders will contribute to the popularization of social entrepreneurship among youth and in society at large, while partnership will also contribute to the systematization of social entrepreneurship education in project partner countries. By implementing the strategy proposal, the long-term impact could be established awareness on the importance of social entrepreneurship and more systematic implementation of social entrepreneurship education. Youth trainers will be equipped with necessary skills to implement quality trainings on social entrepreneurship for young people. The project will have a significant impact also on the European level, as the proposed strategy could serve as a template for systematization of social entrepreneurship education not only in project partner countries but also in other EU countries.
