Millenium Checkpoint
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The " Checkpoint " project aims, based on a structured dialogue with policy makers, put young institutionalized or not attending school at the center of political discussion and decision taking. We will discuss the degree of achievement of the Millennium 2015 Goals in particular the utopia of a global partnership for development ( one goal ) . This project follows on from some previous experiences of PASEC with SOA Turkey and Hasta el Tope of Spain. During the past years , during our concerted efforts , we were faced with a reality of over 150 adolescents between 13 and 27 years ( 155 by data collected by all organizations ) , institutionalized or that don’t go to school. They have all been placed outside the process of youth participation and participatory democracy , as well of opportunities for personal , group and professional achievement . We intend to present at the end of Checkpoint a Manifesto with the point of view of young people and other project participants about the vision we have of the actual fulfillment of the Millennium Goals at national, European and global perspective , with concrete proposals and actions to be undertaken to give body to a global partnership for development ( where young people are active and involved agents ) , particularly by youth communities involved . Without neglecting the direct intervention on the ground , Checkpoint will be the " incubator " that will give birth to at least 3 local projects ( one per country )with the creation of 3 local network of youth associations to demonstrate the real power of a local partnership for development . These mini networks will be the real and concrete example of the benefits of a global partnership for development at local level . The Seminar " Millennium Checkpoint " major initiative of the project in September 2015 , aims to be the moment of birth Platform of " Millennium Checkpoint " which through a multiplatform system - with Internet , Radio, DVD Theme , Pedagogical Work in book and video format production -will release all reflections made during the project. Based on these assumptions the plan of action of Checkpoint based its actions on 5 structural axes : - Checkpoint Task Force : The heart of the project. It will be a team with representatives ( youth ) of each of the partners , politicians or cordinators appointed by the municipalities that host the project and young people from youth communities of the project . - First Checkpoint Trial Meeting : Following preparatory work done by the Checkpoint Openshools ( see form and attachments ) and the Task Force team, this meeting will be the preparation for the seminar . We will elect 12 representatives of each partner to the final seminar . - Seminar " Millenium Checkpoint . " : For ten days and youth policy of Portugal , Spain and Turkey representatives will discuss the results of several national meetings , the current status of the MDGs in each country , the proposals that have the effect of giving body to a global partnership for development and the corresponding feasible plans based on new young local association networks . The last days will be dedicated to the launch of the Manifesto Millenium Checkpoint - Platform " Millenium Checkpoint " - Millennium projects Incubator Checkpoint involves 3 countries , over 200 young people, 24 months of activities , promotion of 3 national meetings for reflection and a set of initiatives of follow- up that allow you to extend and disseminate the effects of the project . This is a project of 100 % youngsters with fewer opportunities .
