The MIGRATOOLS project intends to address two different, yet complementary needs within the current labour market, these are the growing shortage of manpower in European SMEs and the need to integrate an increasing number of non-EU immigrants into the labour market.The target groups represented include both immigrants (having identified problems in labour market integration) and social workers, tutors and trainers (working to solve this problem).To meet these needs three interactive, multimedia products are to be developed; a software package (CD-Rom format) on professional guidance for non-EU immigrants; a didactic software package (CD-Rom format) containing a variety of specialist training courses and a website introducing a virtual classroom able to provide on-line access to the two previous software tools. For all these products there will be separate Trainee Access and Tutor Access areas.Workshops will be held with the target groups to allow testing of the software tools with findings being incorporated into the final results. Dissemination activities will include development of a common website and a production of a dedicated project newsletter.
