"Miejsce multimediów w nowoczesnym nauczaniu"
Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The participation in the project of mobility of professional education staff is aimed to increase professional skills and acquire knowledge in the use of multimedia in modern education. Newly developed and innovative ways of working will affect the quality and increase the effectiveness of teaching. Standards existing in modern education generate a need to change the ways and methods of teaching and using the means of teaching. Supporting traditional teaching with modern technologies aims to adapt the curriculum to the emerging information society. The modern student grows up in such a society and that is why he/she is familiar with it. In order to improve the quality and innovation of education, the school should adapt its methods, ways and means of teaching to the students’ reality. The modernity of teaching methods which is based on the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), requires that teachers need to constantly improve. Universal access to the Internet opens up new possibilities for teaching and learning, and the key to wise and effective use in school these new technologies are the teachers. The project will be attended by a group of 8 teachers of general subjects: maths, social studies, geography, computer science, English and German. These are the teachers with different length of professional experience, creative people open to new challenges who understand the needs of the modern curriculum. The participation in the project will enable the improvement of existing skills and the acquirement of new competencies and their dissemination through enriching educational base of the whole school. The participation in mobility for the teachers will be an opportunity to exchange experiences with foreign partners and observe the functioning of the German educational system. The experience and knowledge gained during the project will help use good and effective solutions at Polish school. As a part of the preparation for the project, the teachers will participate in 30 hours of German language course, 10 hours of computer science and information sessions aimed at getting acquainted with the history and culture of Germany, in particular, the history of Brandenburg and Bavaria. During their stay in the partner schools, the participants will become familiar with the equipment in classrooms, multimedia resources, their performance and use in practice, educational platforms and the Internet. They will observe classes and exchange experiences with the teachers of the partner schools. The next phase of the project is to use the gained experience and then develop and implement new teaching aids. What is more, the teachers will prepare educational programs, multimedia presentations, interactive atlases, dictionaries and encyclopedias, and establish a school resource learning platform Moodle (including various courses with tests, lessons, quizzes and dictionaries of terms). Gained professional competence will be confirmed by receiving The Europass Mobility Certificate. The teachers will improve practical skills in filling out forms, applications and preparing the necessary documents, organizing teamwork and individual use of the Web creators and the application of Open Source. The participation in mobility and stay in the schools of partner countries, will enable the growth of skills in the German language as well as learning the history and culture of Germany on the spot. Considering the dissemination and exploitation of the project mobility results, the teachers will publish reports on the project and provide the obtained materials on the school website. They will also prepare and provide lesson plans using modern teaching aids on educational portals. What is more, they will share experiences and conclusions with other teachers during staff meetings and discussions, use the internet and social media to exchange insights and experiences with other teachers participating in mobility projects. Finally, they will present their findings to the school management, in order to use them to improve the functioning of the school and improve the quality of teaching. Educational mobility, the aim of which is to improve the professional competence of teachers, was included in the development plan of The Hotel and Catering School No. 1 in Kraków. The established contacts with partner schools will result in further cooperation, exchange of good experiences, perhaps shared educational and cultural projects. The experiences and skills gained during the work on the project will be used in the planning and implementation of subsequent tasks conducive to improving the quality of working at school.
