PROJECT
FINISHED
METRO is a leading equality and diversity charity in the UK. In that role it is involved in various educational activities for adults on topics such as human rights, inclusion, norm sensitivity, diversity, gender, sexual orientation, health and wellbeing, and much more.
With this project, METRO wants to further develop its staff and volunteers, so it can advance in delivering even better educational and guidance services. A small set of 18 staff members will participate in a wide set of training courses, that all focus on learner centered and strength based approaches. These are, among others, narrative and appreciative approaches, question techniques to lead better, dialogue methods to address the power of social discourses and much, much more.
As a result of this, the whole organisation will be better in running their educational services (training and counseling), where the starting point will be the learner (as the learner is the expert on their own life) and learning will be better contextualised (in the context of the learners' life). This form of learning is in three words more respectful, empowering and sustainable.
