The lack of reading motivation students are experiencing, is an educational problem which increases year by year and is widespread in Germany and Finland. Reading skills are part of the basic knowledge a young person should have in order to survive in our society. Here we want to start with our Project. First of all, the experiences of practised methods in the two regions are collected. Next, the methods that are usual and established in one region will be presented to the partner. Then, the partner should try them and apply them to himself. In addition, the partners will cooperate in the development of a new way of reading promotion, with the focus on the social and communicative aspect.For the teachers in both regions (and in the end beyond these regions) we hope for an enrichment of their possibilities regarding literacy ideas and for the students consequently for a greater motivation to read books.
