MentorPASS
Start date: Jan 2, 2015, End date: Jul 1, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

MentorPASS. International seminar for reflection and recognition of learning skills in the work of mentors in EVS program. This project initiates a new idea as a proposal for Youthpass, also integrating the tutors and, crediting their competences within the new framework of Erasmus + program. The project brought together 37 experienced and future mentors, former and upcoming EVS volunteers, receiving and sending EVS coordinators from 7 countries, 5 participants each. These countries were: Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Romania, Portugal, Slovakia and Spain who shared ideas and experiences on this topic. It was held from April 30 to May 7, 2015 in Hondarribia-San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain, through techniques of non-formal education and with a duration of 8 days of activity. Within the new framework provided by the Erasmus + program, we saw a good opportunity to begin to reflect on this issue. At the same time it becomes one of the priorities of the new program, youth employability, with particular emphasis on youth workers in this case and mentors as important part of EVS program. Recognizing and validating learning and skills developed in the course of their work. In addition to the mentor to be honoured for his/her work by issuing a document proving their effort for the program and having the valuable experience. This greatly helps make mentors curriculum richer and be a potential employee in a job market. During the seminar activities, presentations, debates, brainstorming, group work, and other activities scheduled, collected all the ideas, insights and approaches were made. The result of all this has been to send the end product of all these reflections to the European Commission. Should respond positively. We believe the impact will be significant, as it will not only affect the partner organizations, but in the long run may be the beginning of a proposal document for the issuance of this recognition of all mentors work in for their effort in European Voluntary Service. Our objectives with this thoughtful seminar were: - Make an incentive proposal to the European Commission for reflection and recognition of learning skills in the work of mentors in EVS program - Increase recognition of the mentors as EVS and youth workers in the context of non-formal learning - Encourage and promote the work mentors in EVS within the Erasmus + program. - Start thinking about the idea of ??competence validation and certification as mentors ace. - To exchange experiences and reflections from different European organizations in mentoring in EVS. - Fight against unemployment, articulating formal recognition mechanisms in favor of youth employability and in the field of youth
