Mediterranean Bridges

This is a time in which the vital resources are exhausted more and more and the separation between rich and poor in the world is more and more extensive. The political and economic conditions in many countries of the Mediterranean and beyond, forcing more people to leave their country of birth. The EVS project "Mediterranean Bridges" aims to contribute to the deepening and knowledge of the motivations of migration on the one hand and to spread the culture of hospitality. The goal of the project is to equip young people of Catania and volunteers who participate in the project of a profound knowledge and experience in immigration law. Volunteers will work closely with young people less fortunate , who fled from their countries and are temporarily guests of non-governmental organizations, with whom we are in contact. The migrants will be involved in art workshops and creative , will collect their biographies and their individual experiences in the long and arduous journey across the Mediterranean and Europe. It will be an enriching experience, knowledge and growth for migrants, those involved, and for European volunteers and the youth of the city. The choice of a dedicated and willing volunteer will determine the full success of our projects. Photographic survey and video interviews on the situation of migrants living in the city; Realization of artistic workshops destined a young foreigners to asylum seekers, refugees, immigrants and young people in difficult life situation and education; labs ethnic food; Training and Reading on different cultures; enrich and better the management of the multilanguages library through the organization of activities related to it; Information desk on the European program "Erasmus +" and the international mobility. It will be used a workshop-type method, interactive, participatory and creative that draws from the experiences of the participants themselves using different techniques (cooperative learning, brainstorming, role playing), workshops, youth meetings and methods of non-formal education-cultural. Some activities such as theater, Nonverbal Communication, artistic-manual will be coordinated by experts that will ensure equitable approach among and with participants. To achieve the goal of a greater impact will be involved as much as possible the communities , institutions and schools. The learning outcomes of the volunteers involved in the project will be evaluated by Youthpass. This project is not meant to be an isolated event but there will be contacts with partners to promote other projects Erasmus + and we will try to involve other partners and countries in future projects.Information material will be prepared on the project (posters and leaflets ) to be distributed before and during the execution of the project, it also means they will use the web (newsletters, websites, blogs and networks) available to partners to publicize the project, the aims and goals.
