Base of „Media makes the world go round” is the experience that culture – visual arts, music, cinema, photography, literature etc. is able to deeply connect young people from different countries. It presents possibilities to encourage communication, exchange of views and a base of mutual understanding. Kultur Aktiv wants to continue promoting this with the help of the new EVS project with two volunteers from Ukraine and Russia. The volunteers will be engaged in preparing and conducting cultural projects which Kultur Aktiv realizes locally or in Eastern Europe. With “Cargo Gallery” we invite two times a year the Czech cultural ship NIKE to Germany and present it with a large programme. “Transkaukazja” will present contemporary Caucasian arts and culture in Germany and other European countries. Besides we have an own art gallery, film presentations, concerts and readings. Through their work in our organisation the volunteers will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge and skills in presentation of cultural events. Another focus is to learn about new media, like blog, film and websites and their creative use in cultural and organizational work. The goal is to strengthen, based on art, the European understanding in general. In addition, the volunteers should be encouraged to became active part of society and to take over more responsibility.
