Applicant and project partners believe that the media and promoting critical observations to the information derived from the media nowadays for young people is very important. It is essential that young people are able to analyze information and independently formulate their own opinions.Project Media Freedom will consist of two activities, namely the preparatory visit and youth exchange.Youth exchange will bring together 49 participants from 7 countries, which are interested in the topic of the media and would like to share their opinion.Together with our partners and young members of partner organizations, we designed the project that will enable young people to learn how the media affects every individual. Based on these findings participants will be able to think more critically about everything what they read or hear in the media, which is important for active participation and civic participation of young people. We believe that this is especially important for young people with fewer opportunities, so we put a special emphasis on their integration and inclusion. At the same time addressing the critical assessment of information received from the media, we will also discuss issues related with refugee crisis. The participants will also help in a critical understanding of media coverage about the current refugee crisis. We believe that that the young participants will better understand the reasons why this crisis is taking place and at the same time they will know how to assist refugees with their activities and involvement in the various organizations concerned with the welfare of refugees during the journey and, of course, even when they are settled in a new environment. For a better understanding of the current situation, however, these young people can help with the integration process of refugees into the local environment. We believe that topic of "media" and "media literacy" is very important and strongly linked with the priorities of the Erasmus + programme. Young people should be able to obtain information from the media, critically evaluate, analyze, and ultimately design their opinion and demonstrate. Methods of work will be in the form of non-formal education and learning of practical work. The project will be covering various topics such as advertising, social networks, manipulation of the media, freedom of the media, the media in our country and the refugee crisis in the media.Participants will also get the chance to create real media coverage of the processed topic. We will have three categories - press, photo and video group.During the exchange, we will address the topic of European citizenship. We will explore how Europe is portrayed in the media and the influence of media on the opinions and attitudes of people.Young people will be actively involved in all phases of the project. Thus, young members of the partner organizations have participated in the planning process, and will also be very active in the preparation stage of the Youth Exchange, as well as the implementation itself of youth exchange and of course also in the process of being finalized and evaluation, and dissemination and exploitation of results. Thus, the preparation and implementation of youth exchange is in some way joint work of all project partners and participants.
