Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

There were 32 students of Vocational School from Zespół Szkół Nr 1 in Swarzędz as our target group for the project. These students are being educated at occupations such as vehicle mechanic and vehicle electro-mechanic. In our school students learn in order to become VW Company workers in the future. The project was realized in spring and autumn of 2015. Connected with the project there were 2 exchanges of our students (16 of them) to Kreishandwerkschaft Waldeck Frankenberg in Korbach. The main aim of the project was to improve students’ qualifications as vehicle mechatronics workers. The project made the methodology of teaching more attractive for the students and highered the level of their qualifications as future workers in the company. Furthermore, the students could use modern IT systems as well as highly professional equipment for vehicle diagnostics. What is more, thanks to the project the students were able to acquire better practical skills and it is very import_ant on the work market nowadays. The project also helped our school as a modern professional centre, which teaches different professions. Graduates of this school will be able to use the knowledge acquired during the project in their later work. These students will be able to use professional software for vehicle diagnostics.Additionally, the project has added the practical part to the process of education system based on the Ministry of Education program. Another import_ant factor for our students was to get to know German culture, typical traditions for the area, improve their German language skills and learn cooperation in international groups. This project is the answer to the needs of work market and our cooperation with German VW Company where the students will receive father training. The project was realized in a professional place suitable for vehicle mechatronics. Our school is not able to give proper training in our building because of poor equipment. That is why we chose the school in Korbach which has the needed equipment. The school has professional electronic equipment for engine diagnostics. During the exchange both lessons and training were under control of teachers from Germany. On these lessons a Polish-German translator was also present to make sure that the students understood everything. Polish students took part in the lessons in Germany for 14 weekdays plus one extra day to visit VW Company in Baumatal. These lessons helped the students to improve their German professional vocabulary. In the afternoon, after the lessons, they got to know German culture. This exchange was very import_ant, but before it took place, our students needed to attend extra lessons of professional vocabulary in German (40 hours) and vocational lessons (90hours). In addition, there were 20 hours of pedagogical and culture instructions to our students. During these lessons the students were taught safety regulations, knowledge about the German region and we signed the contracts with each other. The goal of that project was to help our graduates to become better candidates on work market, help them to become more flexible and open to IT innovations. In our opinion, we succeeded in this field. In order to make everything more effective, when the project finished, we shared its results with other teachers and students.
