The MeC MAP project will undergo a study on the multi-cultural context of e-learning provision, particularly as regards SME's. The study itself will lead to four on-line databases being established, particular to: e-learning project results and initiatives that have addressed multi-cultural aspects (particular to SME's); European organisations key to the introduction and raising of multi-lingual and multi-cultural e-learning competencies and standards; competencies and qualifications for teachers and trainers working with SME's in a multi-cultural context and guides and reference materials for developers and trainers working in a multi-cultural e-learning context. End products will comprise the study (multi-cultural context of e-learning provision), the four on-line databases and Geographical Information System software (addressing the more general themes of social exclusion and the digital divide in work-based learning). Target groups for the project include training managers within SME's (operating within a multi-cultural context), policy makers and key stakeholders working towards the lifelong learning agenda. Dissemination will feature throughout the project, beginning with awareness raising and information activities and leading to publicity based activities such as the development of flyers, newsletters and a project website and the hosting of and attendance at project workshops and conferences.
