PROJECT
FINISHED
In recent years, the Public school, José Rodriguez Cruz, has been making strong and clear efforts to improve the communicative competence of teachers and students in the English language, and to continue its ongoing internationalization process.
The Center’s needs motivate us to apply for this project to achieve the following goals:
1.- To strengthen the internationalization of our center.
2.- To expand the educational services.
3.- To improve the communicative competence of teachers and students.
4.- To achieve new teaching methodology in bilingual education.
5.- To enhance satisfaction and motivation for the students and the staff.
With these objectives in mind, the mobility activities are geared toward job-shadowing and teaching abroad, as well as structured courses in different European countries with innovative methodologies in the teaching of English, spread over 24 weeks.
The Physical Education and English teachers, e-twinning and Portfolio work groups, coordinators, and management teams are the members who are interested in taking part in this project. These members work in the center and it is their permanent work location, making the entire length of the project possible during the 24 months needed.
We hope that our participation in Erasmus is significant, not only in our school, but also in other groups, organizations, and parent associations. It is our ambition that the project can be meaningful, in some way, even for the Town Hall, so that they can, too, assume educational responsibility of young people in our town.
Our centre, with 38 years of history, had never launched any European Programmes until three years ago, so our participation in this project will have an important impact on pupils, teachers, and the community. E-twinning has been our first experience in European education projects and has prompted us to get involved in larger projects.
The experience and knowledge acquired by teachers will have an important effect on their professional development and the overall quality of education in our school. This will generate a thinking process and analysis to put into effect a new methodological and management approach in our center.
For teachers involved, the participation in this educational mobility would represent a major step forward in their professional development which will enable their professional, cultural, and linguistic experience. To know other countries, other cultures, other realities, and finally, to live in other countries, makes it possible to expand the professional and personal horizons needed to achieve a higher educational quality.
Participation in this project would be a tremendous stimulus for our school´s internationalization strategy, increase the enrollment rates, and add a seal of quality to our center that other primary schools in our town do not have.
In conclusion, the work undertaken by our center, to put into action all of the activities described above, has been very important and worthwhile for us. We are satisfied with the results achieved and determined to progress further. We cannot turn back from this path. We hope to achieve the approval of this application as a result of the hard work of this humble center firmly committed to education.
