MC4VED Mass Customization for Vocational Education

Needs analysis:According to the 2006 OECD study on “Schooling for Tomorrow: Personalizing Education” individualized learning on demand was transferred from customized production processes in industry into VET. Didactical approach:For education this shift from a “push” to a “pull approach” is strongly recommended and favoured by findings from neuroscience, pedagogy and systems theory.Hereby the teachers' new roles as facilitators are the key to success: they do not only de-liver knowledge and control the flow at the same time, but organize the delivery of knowl-edge according to the demand/pull of the students.Project goal: It was the aim of the project to initiate and install pull processes as pilot projects for improved learning in public schools transferring MC strategies and experiences from industry to education (MC4VED).Parent goal:A positive impact on EU Lisbon objectives was envisaged to reduce the number of “Early School Leavers” and increase the interest in “LLP”.
