PROJECT
FINISHED
Valdres is a region with rich local food traditions. This has become increasingly important in our school over the last years, and has also become a major factor in regional developement. Valdres vidaregåande skule wishes to develope the knowledge of our students in the fields of their own food culture an its place in local culture. Andalucia in Spain is a region where food plays an important role in local culture and identity. We therefore wish to send some of our students to a large restaurant school in Andalucia.
Three students will be chosen to participate. During three weeks they will be allowed to take part in lessons at the Escuela Hostelleria de Jerez. They will bring their new knowledge back to the rest of their class. Their teacher will make sure that the new knowledge is implementet in our school and in the Team for learning and development of the food- and restaurantbranch in our region.
Through seeing which place food has in andalucian culture, we think that our students will be able to see their own culture with new eyes and to a greater extent be able to be a part of developing food culture in Valdres. The school will through this project be able to play an even more active part in developing the food- and restaurantbranch in our region.
