The proposed project "Make your mentoring superpower" is an initiative of European organizations experienced in the implementation of EVS projects. Representatives of the organization among whom were coordinators, volunteers and mentors met in 2015 during the training the purpose of which was to improve the quality of EVS projects. During the conversations they noticed the need for greater support for mentors of EVS volunteers. This was how the idea of organizing an international training for mentors and internships for coordinators of mentors was born. The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of EVS projects by providing mentors with the skills that will enable them to better support the European Volunteers. The project consists of 3 activities. The main activity is the training addressed to 27 mentors of EVS volunteers who represent 18 organizations from 8 countries of the Programme and 2 Partner Countries. The training will be held in Warzenku on Kaszubach between 19th and 25th of February 2017. During the six days of training, with the support of experienced coaches, participants will share their knowledge and experience in the work of mentoring. During the active workshops in international environment they will speak about topics relevant to carrying out this role, such as effective communication, intercultural education, conflict resolution, learning volunteer projects, self-development mentor. In addition, there will be two internships of coordinators of mentors. Coordinator of the Italian organization Culturale Strauss will held a 6-day internship at the Center for Youth Cooperation in Gdynia. Then the employee of Center for Youth Cooperation for 6 days will be learned about the work of organizations Culturale Strauss. Both coordinators will expand knowledge, gain experience and learn new methods, which they will use in their work with mentors and in coordination of EVS projects. Thanks to the knowledge, skill and experience gained during the project, mentors and coordinators will be able to support foreign volunteers more effectively, which will contribute significantly to improving the quality of EVS projects.
