From the school year 2014/2015. Marupe Secondary school has started to develop a new curriculum for language learning that requires further education of teachers as well as acquiring international experience. As the objective of the school is to prepare a well-educated person who can put into practice the knowledge acquired at school, it is essential to learn the methods of how to do it in the most successful way. International experience of the European mobilities will help the teachers improve professional competences in innovating teaching and learning methods. The European mobilities give the opportunity to cooperate and establish contacts with teachers from other countries, to compare and explore experience and positive aspects of other education systems and to implement the acquired knowledge to improve the development of the school and curriculum. New experience and competences will be disseminated among the teachers of school and municipality in order to improve the quality of language teaching and methods on international level.
Marupe Secondary school appoints the participants who are already teaching English in the language class, who are interested in developing their skills and improving the skills of teaching English in particular. Chosen European mobilities will result in improving the skills of using drama techniques in learning process, improving the skills of students during the process of learning language, the increase of the students' motivation, implementation of CLIL methodology in teaching/learning process.
The main project activities are the following: practical workshops, simulation games , group work, discussions, presentations.
It is being planned to include the newly acquired methods in the curriculum, to make and share learning materials, to share experiences with the teachers from other schools.
It is expected that using the newly acquired methods in the teaching process will significantly increase the levels of learning motivation and language skills in students as well as develop such 21st century skills as cooperation, leadership, problem solving and conflict resolution. The students will take part in local and international projects and will be able to use their knowledge and skills in covering various topics. Progressive dynamics and better results in language learning are expected.
