FINISHED
The current legal and economic implications of the most relevant and up-to-date issues of international trade have raised the demand for high level experts in economic world dynamics. The proposal, which consists in the institution of a Summer school on international trade, aims at answering to this actual demand. Precisely it provides professionals, government officials, international civil servants, financial consultants, scholars and students with an advanced, in-depth and inter-disciplinary understanding of the most important issues in the field of international trade. The Summer School proposes something that doesn’t exist in the Italian higher education at this time: a cycle of courses to be held entirely in English, open to the participation of both Italian and foreign students, specifically dedicated to the International Trade and its Economic and Legal implications, in particular in the EU perspective. Indeed, after giving a general overview of the multilateral trade and its regulation, the proposed Summer School will focus on the EU competence on trade, both in its internal and external dimensions. In particular, in light of the changes introduced by the Lisbon Treaty and taking into account the distribution of competences between the EU and the Member States, it will explore the reform of the EU Customs Code, the EU internal market (competition policy, subsidies, capital movement), the new EU competence on foreign direct investments. Then It will consider the EU external relations in the fields of trade and competition policy. Finally, particular attention will be paid to the role played by the EU within the World Trade Organization (WTO). The Summer School is intended to be the point of reference not only for post-graduates, but also for professionals, government officials who are looking for an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the most important and cutting-edge issues in the field of international trade.
