Main problems are a lack of involvement of young locals in decision-making processes the lack of support of youth in local community, and the fact there is no strategic documents which would address the needs , concerns and interests of young people from the area of Pula . The project Local Youth Program of Pula is conducted by ZUM Organization in partnership with the City of Pula. Through project activites, Local youth program will be made and it will also be a beginning of cooperation and dialogue between the city authorities and the youth. Specific objectives of the projects are: 1. Increase the active participation of youth in the community through development of Local youth program of Pula 2. Boost cooperation and joint work of young people and decision-makers through development of Local youth program. 3. Raise citizens’ awarness on youth as a resource of local communities in need of adequate social support. In order to achieve the intended objectives, there will be six thematic workshops with young people and two informal meetings of young people with decision-makers where they will discuss possible solutions to a particular issue of high interest for youth. In addition, the project will include the Open Door Days when the general public will be introduced to the work methodology, the project itself, and it will be an opportunity to share experience and knowledge useful for the development of Local Youth programs in other local communities. The methodology of the workshops and meetings will be informal, fun and educational in order to maintain the motivation and interests of participants. The final product will be a Local youth program of Pula and it will be distributed primarily on the second Open Door Days. The expected number of participants in the workshops is 84 young people, 10 of whom were young people with fewer opportunities. The expected number of participants in meetings with decision-makers are 28, of which 24 are young people. The rest of them, four, are representatives of the city government / council / decision makers. The expected number of participants at the Open Door Days is 56, of which 34 young people. Age of young participants are in the range of 15 to 30 years. Results of the project are: 1. Drafted and adopted the first Local youth program of Pula 2. Six thematich workshops were held with total number of 84 young people 3. Two meetings of young people with decision makers were held and which was attended by 28 people 4. Two Open Door Days of the project were heldn and at least 56 people attended 3. At least 70% of the young people enhanced the knowledge, competencies and skills for active participation in the community through project activities (workshops and meetings) 4. Wider public was informed about the development of Local Youth Program and the importance of cooperation between young people and decision-makers through the Open Door Days and media releases. 5. General public was nvolved in the preparation of the Local youth program of Pula through public consultations. The projected impacts of the project : 1. Gaining knowledge, competencies and skills, young people are capable of independent and powerful action in the local community 2. Meetings of youth with decision-makers enabled the continuation of dialogue and their deeper cooperation 3. Through the promotion of the project and the involvement of the general public, awareness and understanding the importance of developing youth policies in local communities has increased. Potential long-term benefitis of the project: 1. Existance of Local youth program of Pula will contribute to better goal achivements of civil-associations, institutions, schools and other stakeholders 2. Local Youth Programme will be helpful for relevant stakeholders to access EU funds. 3. Local government will better use the funds for young people, with respect to the strategic objectives. 4. Implementation of Local youth programs of Pula will contribute to improving the social position of youth in Pula and the development of inclusive policies for young people. 5. Other cities and municipalities in the County of Istria, on the basis of this project, will develop own local youth programs and start with the development of local youth policies.
