This project is designed for the Integrated Mondariz Public school (Pontevedra). The school is set in a rural area with a low economic and cultural level. It has three educational levels: kindergarten, primary and secondary, with a total of 410 students and 48 teachers.The students of this school have a great heterogeneity in terms of motivations, interests and needs. Moreover, most students have difficulties in basic areas of learning; languages, mathematics, logical reasoning, critical thinking, reading comprehension and writing skills.Given these difficulties, the Guidance Center in coordination with the Education Inspectorate, decided to take appropriate steps to address the needs identified. It was decided to implement a program to develop and improve logical reasoning and mathematical competence. However, once applied, it was concluded that the program was too theoretical. A more practicaI and applied program is needed for teachers to use in the classroom.After reasearching other options, a mobility project of "jobshadowing" for faculty framed in the European Development Plan arose. Through eTwinning, our school would work with a school "Antun Kanižlić" in Croatia, a country which has an ongoing curriculum reform focused on the skills and practical projects and learning skills for life. This school in particular offers the subject of Home Economics, which gives a practical approach, which may be a reference for improving our school. Selected participants for this program are the two mentor teachers of the primary school and an English language teacher.The overall objective is to achieve a change in teaching practice and to gain applied methods of teaching to meet the needs to our diverse student population. Methods for teaching mathematics and solving problems in the classroom, so that students develop the ability to use mathematics as a tool to recognize and solve problems of everyday life, using different forms of reasoning.The proposed activities for students will focus on different skills, such as memory, attention, language and logical-mathematical reasoning, all framed in the development of basic skills. In the case of teachers activities they will focus on conducting a mobility activity K1 "jobshadowing"; to carry out the design of an action plan to integrate our school; integrate the knowledge acquired in the educational activities of everyday life into the classroom and strengthen the professional profile of teachers through collaborative work.The methodology followed is based on the natural processes of learning and teaching figure as a guide. It will be based on the principles of individualization, intuition, activity, participation, globalization and interdisciplinarity. Learning is meaningful and constructive-functional, focusing from a playful, creatively, by inclusion of a work that stimulates thought; adapted to the interests, developmental characteristics, diversity and student learning rhythms. As for the social aspect of students and teachers, it will harmonize both individual and collective work, developing habits of coexistence and social cooperation.The expected results of this project will achieve improvements in the quality of teaching. Teachers will be able to apply new methodological approaches, acquire new learning, widening the educational perspective, increasing the competences and qualifications, through a strategy of internationalization of labor.To assess the results of both students and teachers, ongoing evaluation of progress will be measured and in the end, a final evaluation. The impact of the participants will play in the dissemination of the program in different media (forums, eTwinning virtual platform, etc) in conducting briefings for teachers and families in establishing a working group to prepare new materials. Through contact between organizations, implementation of joint projects and methodological innovation, the impact with the participating organization will be measured.The benefits to be achieved with this project are to improve reasoning and mathematical competence and the foreign language, improve education and the quality of teaching and learning activities of the school and if we are successful, we would share our work and experience with other institutions so that they can improve as well.
