Ljubljana 2015 ? 1st National selection conference of European youth parliament of Slovenia, the event made by youth for youth will bring together 100 young participants from 8 European countries, including youth from all around Slovenia. In this four day event young delegates from all over Europe will have a chance to meet their peers, work together in international teams, exchange ideas and experience parliamentary democracy on a European level. The conference will offer them a unique forum and a special opportunity to share their ideas with politicians and decision-makers.
The participants will work together in six international teams, where they will discuss one of the current European topic and then compile their own ideas into a resolution. This part of the session will also create a dialogue between participants, politicians and experts. On the last day of the session called the General assembly, resolutions will then be debated using rules and procedures of the European Parliament and finally voted upon. During the session a number of cultural events will celebrate Europe and its rich diversity and thus promote intercultural exchange and dialog.
Participants of Ljubljana 2015 will experience an informal as well as non-formal shapes of learning which are designed to promote active participation, democratic procedures and values, intercultural dialogue and most importantly European citizenship. Using this project we want to motivate young people to become active citizens and participate in current discussions while learning new skills by working in international multi-cultural teams taking on challenging political topics.
As mentioned above the entire event is youth driven and organised by voluntary young people aged between 18 and 25. The hosting organization EYP Slovenia is supported by a wide network of young Europeans.
