According to this project "Listen to the wind of changes" the teachers of our school who will be further trained will acquire knowledge, practical skills and tools so as to deal with the learning demands of their students and provide learning motives for them.The three participants have many years of teaching experience but they were never given the opportunity to be further trained or to attend lessons in other foreign country or to cooperate with colleagues from different -and more developed- educational systems. They want to expand their knowledge and experiment with new tools of learning. The "job shadowing" was chosen because it is considered internationally as the most effective tool of staff training.This project has been planned in such a way so as to cover the needs of the primary schools and it is based in many years ' experience and innovative changes that the Agrupamento Escolas de Barcelos has shown. The seven primary schools where the project will take part are located in Portugal (Barcelos), a country which rose all of sudden with the educational reform of 2002 in the higher positions of PISA index. So, the participants will be eyewitness of the Portuguese innovative education with seminars and mostly with job shadowing. The project includes 8 days of job shadowing, seminars and meetings with regional authorities and other organizations.The project will strengthen and fortify our staff in using digital methods of learning such as the creation of videos, web channel, electronic newspaper etc.-The teachers will learn to teach with creativity and imagination incorporating ICT as well as different tools and strategies therefore making a digital class. -they will learn to practices of cooperative learning.-they will learn to adopt different approaches for pupils of low capacity.-they will find innovative ways of teaching English as a foreign language.-they will teach by using Art and Sports as much as possible as a tool of social inclusion .- they will get familiar with European projects like KA2 and e Twinning and they will place them actively among the school and the local society. The expected results include the teachers of our school, pupils and parents as well as the other teachers of Central Greece. They also will have an impact to the local community and sustainability, because we have the conviction that the expenses for education constitute a direct productive investment.
