Liderazgo Emprendimiento y bi-culturalismo. Encuentro entre jóvenes de la periferia de Paris y Madrid
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project's main objective is an exchange between young people of immigrant origin living in the poorest suburbs of Madrid and Paris (District of Villaverde, in Madrid, and Clichy-sous-Bois-Montfermiel in Paris). The exchange took place in the Spanish capital and the young participants were a total of 20 (10 in Spain and 10 in France) in different situations: some are studying, others have left the education system and there who is unemployed or precarious and temporary jobs. These are young people who come from families with limited opportunities and have a different majority population of ethnic origin. The main objective was to open new horizons to young people, helping them to identify the elements that hinder their social and economic integration as factors that facilitate their access to new opportunities. It is encouraging their training (in the sense of empowerment) through the organization of meetings for reflection and debate in which there will be the presence of "guest key" (entrepreneurs, university professors, members of groups against racism, religious leaders, etc ...). This experience has given them the opportunity to take away from their environment and work two fundamental areas. First, the bi-cultural (the fact of belonging to two different cultures and sometimes contradictory). And secondly, entrepreneurship, showing young people who can become agents of transformation of their immediate environment. In this way it is intended to make young people aware of the importance of their role as European citizens and facilitating contact with new social networks and new players that can counter the negative effects of exclusion and segregation, opening up new prospects.
