Search for European Projects

Leaving East Frisia
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Developments from regional job markets to a European market have changed the challenges for our school. We have the goal to prepare our students for Europe and a European job market. That is why we will offer our students the chance to participate in extra training courses that will teach intercultural skills and will include doing an internship for 4 weeks in a foreign European country. They will also have to learn a second foreign language and pass an exam about importing and exporting goods. Our school promotes offering these extra skills to vocational students in our region. We train the students in all of these subjects, so that they will be able to pass the exams at our local chamber of commerce. To be able to do so our staff has to be trained in these fields of education and needs special training courses - preferably in an Engliosh speaking country where they can expand their intercultural skills as well as their speaking skills. We might also be able to find future partners for eTwinning in the course of these seminars. The participating four colleagues will all be part of the existing team "international activities" at our school. They are open towards a European approach to teaching and motivated to be part of this developmant at our school. Two of these colleagues are already taking part in extra courses that will enable them to teach "English" at vocational schools. To complete this seminar they will have to take part in a two-week-training in an English speaking country. Two other colleagues will attend courses as soon as we know the exact number of students who will participate in the offered extra training courses mentioned above. We strive for a development of intercultural and project management skills for the entire staff. For this purpose we would like to participate in the training to promote our intercultural, speaking and project management skills and pass these on to the remaining staff as well as to our students. The experiences of the seminar will increase an interest in intercultural learning and cooperation. European projects will be conducted more effectively. The training will lead to greater enthusiasm for European projects among teachers. In addition, it will promote the intercultural, language and social skills of our students and contribute to prepare them to meet the demands of a European and international job market. We will be able to send more students to internships in foreign countries during their apprenticeship. Our participants shall take part in the training abroad with great interest, have sufficient language skills and represent the European idea in our school.
