FINISHED
The challenges faced by students and teachers within the European job market require the acquisition and perfection of foreign language competence, in particular of English. Secondly, education in the EU demands a certain amount of mobility today, along with the elaboration of diverse skills in international project engineering.
The goals of our project "learning from the best" are:
- To improve the foreign language skills of the students (CLIL, English)
- To apply ICT skills in international projects
- To further the social competence of the students
- To enhance the personal initiative of the students
- To contribute to the satisfaction and motivation of the teachers
- To lower the drop out rate
- To improve the quality of teaching
- To open up a modern and international perspective to our work
- To address the needs of students who have difficulties learning, and to challenge the gifted ones
- The following staff members of the Higher Technical College for Software Engineering Perg will be taking part in the project: 7 teachers who are going to actively participate along with the so called „EU team“, i.e. experienced teachers who have already been active in diverse EU projects. The intended collaboration of newcomers and experts is likely to guarantee a sustainable and sucessful outcome.
The following activities are planned:
- Attending teacher training courses abroad (such as language courses, project management in an international context)
- Job shadowing in other types of schools and school systems
- The exchange of teaching material and ideas (i.e. support of weaker students and challenges for more talented students)
- Mutual assimulation of the learning and teaching methods and forms of individualisation used in each of the respective partner schools
-The general planning of activities is coordinated by HTL-Perg-EU-Team on a regular weekly basis.
- The described measures enhance the career and personal development of the respective teachers. What‘s more, our students and graduates will benefit in particular from this project by preparing for the international job market.
