The project is designed to:* Provide opportunities to our students, living in a small provincial area and having little contact with the European reality towards which, they sometimes express a kind of mistrust * Implement the chances to carry out work related learning activities, also abroad* To accept the demand of local companies that show a strong interest in language skills and the ability to manage relationships among people of different nationalities.*Encourage our students during the staff selection in companies* Decrease the drop-out also motivating our weaker students through important work and life experiencesThe goals of the project are inserted into those of our school:* Provide our students the minimum skills required for their success as working citizens and promoting international labor mobility as well as the acquisition of knowledge in innovative fields* Provide our teachers with the right tools to achieve this goal through discussion, exchanging experiences and best practicesIt is a significant opportunity, both for students and teachers, to implement their language skills.Six classes of students (120) between 17 and 20 year, attending the last three years of mechanical engineering will be involved in the two year project; 40 students will be placed in labor mobility abroad, while the others will follow the activities in Italy. Twenty teachers will participate at labor mobility, and the effect of job shadowing and monitoring will interest the whole class councils. The project is made up of three phases: a preparatory process in Italy, the organization of a partnership and mobility project abroad and the return of the results (during the 2 years the experience will be repeated several times). In the first step there will be provided:* Agreements with Italian companies to identify technical issues, including those related to safety, related to the project area, which will be developed through CLIL classes* Improvement classes of technical English lessons* Technical English lessons at companies workshops in collaboration with company workers.* Labor mobility and internships with companies operating in the project areaThe second one is characterized by:* Agreements with schools and foreign companies related to pupils and teachers for the period spent in the partner countries * Learners mobility in foreign companies operating in the same field of the project development* Staff Mobility and job shadowing activitiesThe third one will provide :* the come back of the experience gained by students and teachers involved in the mobilities with the rest of the school, the Italian companies and the territory highly publicizing the validity of the experiences in Europe. The working methodology will involve the implementation of the consolidated activities carried out by our school towards contacts with foreign partners, to relationships with companies and the procedures required by the accreditation system of the institute and inserted into the POF.Debate, dialogue, mutual skills enhancement and strengths will always be the leading features.Short term expected results will be:* Language skills development in both general and technical communication through the micro language of the chosen technical field.* Technical skills implementation, combined with an increased awareness of the European dimension of knowledge and work, which may facilitate encourage students’ integration in the job world.* Promotion of greater participation in a European democratic life and an intercultural dialogue* Increase in technical, educational and communicative knowledge of teachers with repercussions in the medium term. The refining capacity of planning and evaluating labor mobility experiencesFurthermore, in a short time the Institute will have the following benefits:* Expansion of its offer increasing its ability in establishing and maintaining relationships with companies / schools / countries abroad* Cooperation with the local labor market providing more opportunities for work placement to its students* Capacity in offering students international internships opportunities through the best competences acquired by teachers and staff* Achievement of more visibility on the territory thanks to the dissemination got by the press, seminars and European activities* Benchmark setting for internship and technical training for companies, as well.
