PROJECT
FINISHED
With this Erasmus+ - project the Stichting Vrienden ASF Nederland wants to support people in trouble by the activities of young vounteers. The project will develop intercultural understanding, awareness of anti-racism and the importance of defending human rights. By the activites the volunteers will contribute to counter social exclusion. There will also a link to the younger European (and German ) history, which helps volunteers to understand how racism and nationalism can raise and what is possible to do against it.The volunteers will support people who are in difficult personal situations. One of the volunteers will mainly be active in the support of refugees and migrants, the other volunteer will be involved in the organisation of activities for and with people in difficult social/ financial situations and in day-activities for youngsters and children. For the people in trouble it is very interesting to get into contact with younger people from outside the Netherlands. The volunteers have the opportunity to discuss their different kinds of work in this project. So they can find out, that there are different ways of being active for a civil society and social inclusion. Two German volunteers will be involved in the project, all of them in the Netherlands. The activities will take place at Stichting Talent Present and Stichting Stem in de Stad. They will stay for 12 months. The volunteers will acquire new competences and skills which will help them in their working carrier, such as: organizing activities; learn to have a working-week and organize it; working in a team; other practical skills; learning Dutch, assitance work in an office. The methods used for these activities are methods of non-formal learning which will strengthen the volunteers in their capacity of independence and development of their personality. The volunteers will be trained in intercultural methods, as well as in anti-racism and tolerance. We want to contribute to build ways of social inclusion, which includes problems of poverty as well as exclusion because of disabilities or cultural differences.Through these activities the volunteers will experience that they are taking part in European civil society. We want to strengthen the awareness of the volunteers of the importance of their own contribution to this society and their responsibilty for the realisation of human rights.
