Start date: Jun 22, 2015, End date: Dec 21, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Leading Ladder is a 6-day training course in Scanzano Jonico, Italy. The training course will bring 31 people from Italy, Estonia, France, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Spain, Sweden, Latvia during the period of 03-10 October 2015 with the aim to develop facilitators for youth exchanges and boost the work of partner organizations. The topic and the methodology is shaped to the needs of organizations involved in the project, that identified lack of experience and empowerment of its members. Thus, it was decided to train, empower and give space to participants by holding sessions, where participants will use their own knowledge and creativity to shape up sessions and facilitate group activities. During the 6-day training course participants will learn and practice need assessment, communication models, method creation, experiential learning framework and much more. The main objectives of the project are the following one: -to develop the competences of youth leaders in youth exchanges; -to raise awareness of benefits of those international exchanges; -to create and share tools of involvement of young people; -to find ways of raising involvement of young people in the participant's organizations and other youth organizations of Europe; -to promote Erasmus+ as an educative program for youth leaders and young people of Europe; -to empower young leaders to create their own projects and become confident group leaders; -to share models and techniques of practical involvement of youth in their communities; -to create space for development of new projects with a higher level of quality, involvement and impact; -to assist in developing of an effective partner network for youth leaders. The participants of this project will be active youth leaders or youth workers, who have some experience in international youth exchanges as participants and would like to proceed in being group leaders and leaders of projects of their organizations. We will have 31 participants in total and they will be in the age range of 18-30. Two experienced trainers will use NFL’s methods and will include input and experience-exchange sessions, reflection-groups with discussions, team building activities, energizers, active games, role-plays, group works, creative sessions with mentors etc. During the training, participants will have the task of developing further project ideas (preferably a youth exchange or a youth initiative) to work on the topic directly with other young people. We want to make youth workers more competent and multi-skilled in being leaders and motivators and also share with them a more positive attitude to it. Participants will have a better understanding of leadership styles and motivational techniques a part than a better knowledge of the Erasmus+ program and its opportunity and of course they will have the chance to develop a international network for future cooperation. Project participants are expected to return from the training with a bigger motivation to work with local young people in their communities. This way the direct and largest impact of the training will be on it's participants and the young people they work with. The project will be promoted online through several social medias and websites but also offline by spreading the links and using word of mouth. Pictures, and training material will be shared & open to the public. The project will also be mentioned in local newspapers. All the materials produces (are supposed to contain tools and guidelines for practical improvement of the levels of youth involvement) for and during the training will be documented and made available for further use of youth workers and youth leaders who are working on with the youth. The e-kit will be sent to all the partners with the aim to be made available on youth-related information sites in their countries. The kit will be created and made available for public on the partner's channels, national agencies channels and Salto-youth.
