Project activities will contribute to transferring from fossil fuels to alternative local energy sources (wind) in Nenets Autonomous District. The project will create wind-monitoring infrastructure in the territory of Nenets Autonomous Okrug, incl. wind monitoring equipment and complex of ICT tools to collect, analyze and manage the received data. This is indispensible for the next step of installation of the new infrastructure – wind diesel power stations that constitute integral part and will be follow up of this project. The infrastructure created will have the life span of 10 years and will supply information to energy complex of NAO and for navigation and meteorological purposes. Achievements: The Project has formed substantial background for introducing new energy generating policy in the target cross-border areas. This includes now the wind-monitoring infrastructure in the territory of NAO, incl. wind monitoring equipment and complex of ICT tools (3D wind modeling, system of wind monitoring data transmission to stationary dispatch points,etc.) to collect, analyze and manage the received data. This would be indispensible for the next step of installation of the new infrastructure.
