The aim of the project “Light Me Up!” is to use the objectives of the LLP in order topromote the benefits of language learning among pupils, students and adults andaccommodate 5 less widely used and taught European languages in the context oftravelling abroad. The project takes into consideration the dynamic growth of theEuropean travel and tourism sector, the open borders, the internationalization of thebusiness and the labour market, the increased number of pupil and student mobilityprogrammes, the rising interest in higher education abroad, and the increase in propertypurchase in other countries.“Light Me Up!” will focus on Bulgarian, Czech, Dutch, Greek and Lithuanian and involvethe target group in easily accessible language activities and products creating andupgrading basic language skills related to travelling abroad. The main project productwill be multimedia learning-oriented language sets which will provide basic informationin the target languages into different topics related to common situation people get intowhen travelling abroad. The partners will use the Tourism Fairs organised each year inall countries and carry out promotional language events in the target languagesinvolving the target group in thematic language activities with native speakers. As afollow-up, the partners will organise for groups of beneficiaries open language courseswith teachers for each target language. The partners will work in close cooperation with a network of travel agencies which offerservices for school excursions, work and travel for students, business trips, tourism, etc. This will be the main dissemination channel which will distribute the language sets totheir clients who plan to visit one or more of the partner countries both during the lifetimeof the project and after its end. The most innovative aspect of the project is that thelanguage sets will supplement the service portfolio of the travel agencies by including alanguage service in addition to their travel services. This will sustain the impact on thetarget group after the project end and create a favourable environment forcommercialisation of the product. As a result a significantly higher number of peoplecould be reached including those outside the initial target group.
