The purpose of the project is to contribute to a sustainable development in the region with a focus on enviroment. The project wants to collect and gather experience with plans (ideas) on strategic environmental assessment on both sides of the sound. Furthermore, the project wants to put forward concrete recommendations on how strategic environmental assessment and sustainable criteria can be fit into the planning work and the work with regional development plans. This includes discussions on how the assessment work can be organised in the future and be a natural part of all planning- and development processes. The purpose of the project is also to identify areas where differences in Danish and Swedish legislation primarily planning and environmental legislation make it difficult to boost the integration.
