La mobilité Europe, un renforcement de l'appartenance à la citoyenneté européenne pour nos élèves de bac professionnel filière tertiaire
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

As mentioned above, we would like to extend the open mindedness of our students to other European cultural backgrounds in a different world of work. This 9th mobility project concerns the 8 European section students in their final year of a BTEC National diploma in Administrative Duties. It will take place from November 12th to December 16th 2016 in DUBLIN with a new intermediary organization partner (INTERNSHIPS IRELAND) for the first time. The four weeks’ work experience will be preceded by a “4 days' linguistic preparation” organised by INTERNSHIPS IRELAND and financed by the school funds and a contribution from the families. Are concerned by the project from the beginning :- the headmaster,- the deputy head,- the accountant,- the vocational section head,- the English teacher & the vocational training English teacher,- the teachers who are in charge of the class,- the regional council and the local education authority (LEA),- the cities where our students live,- their parents. This three years’ BTEC was created in September 2006 responding to the request of the vice-chancellor of Versailles Local Education Authority. The concomitant opening of the European section was a school initiative to be in conformity with the school project entitled "Personal culture and international opening".As a matter of fact, our students will have to work on a market in constant evolution, with foreign suppliers and customers. In order to increase their chances to be hired, it is necessary for them to be fluent in English. We are the only school in the area to offer this qualification with this option. Vincent Van Gogh school, inaugurated in 1991, welcomes 1157 students who come from 5 local areas and from the working classes localities - Mantes, Les Mureaux and Aubergenville. The 8 students concerned by this mobility project represent this social diversity, and they are all preparing a BTEC in Administrative Duties with the European option. They have to carry out a four weeks’ work experience in an Irish speaking firm where they will work on administrative tasks, adapted to their professional and English level. This training period will be preceded by a week of cultural, linguistic and professional insertion in order to help them to feel more secure and to adapt to a new way of living and working in a foreign environment. Our students have progressively been learning about their future jobs for the last 2 years thanks to theoretical classes and thanks to their different work experiences in France in firms sometimes having a European or international development (Renault, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Vinci, Véolia, EADS, Catella Property Group France...).We are expecting the following results for the mobility project to come:* Concerning the students:- a cultural opening, and European citizenship awarness,- the development of their professional abilities,- a fluency in English,- the development of their maturity and autonomy,- a personal satisfaction to have achieved such a project,- a higher motivation to obtain the BTEC National and the European grade,- the opportunity to continue higher level education after obtaining the BTEC,- good, and even, excellent results at the exam and at the "European English grade", - more higher-education perspectives,- the awareness of the importance of the work experience in Ireland and the “Europass Mobility” on the professional market,- the awareness of the financial support from the European program Erasmus+ and the interest in the youths’ language training. Our results from the first mobility project:- from 2009 to 2015 (7 groups) : 61 candidates = 60 passed their BTEC National (most with a good grade),- from 2009 to 2014 (7 groups): 61 candidates = 48 European mentions = 78,69%* In the school:- an improved status of the vocational section,- the mobilization of skills for the success of our students,- the development of interdisciplinarity,- the experience and abilities acquired by the teams which work is enhanced by the project.* Out of the school:- an improved status of the perception of the vocational section and of the school,- the fact that students are hired more easily,- our school may be a help for other schools which want to open a European section.
