PROJECT
FINISHED
The training project "teaching and learning of entrepreneurs" includes the training needs from child and basic education "Arteaga", a public school located in Murcia that welcomes students from different educational stages: 3 to 5 years (kindergarten) 6 to 11 (primary education) and 12 to 16 (secondary education). The school develops the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach since 2011 where part of the curriculum is taught in English as a strategic way to improve the language proficiency of students in a foreign language. This public school has always been interested and involved in the implementation of projects and mobility with which to develop the European dimension in education. To do this, the first Comenius project began in 2009 and the experience was so good that in 2012 returned to participate in another project.
One of the main needs of the center is marked by the Organic Law 8/2013, 9th December, for the Improvement of Educational Quality. This legislation foster the "teaching and learning of entrepreneurs" and consequently the curricula for primary and secondary education stresses (a) the development and strengthening of entrepreneurship, (b) the acquisition of skills for creativity and innovation, (c) equal opportunities promotion. This is a very new area for our school and more training, observation of real cases and classroom practice, is needed. The implementation of this type of education aims to address other needs identified in the school (a) school failure, (b) the use of new technologies in the classroom: whiteboards and iPads, (c) incorporation of the sociocultural context in educational activities.
To do this we have selected 9 participants, 5 from primary education and 4 from secondary education with which to acquire the core skills and competencies necessary for the development of "teaching and learning of entrepreneurs" around the school. In a first phase, two primary teachers will attend to a training course specifically designed for this educational stage and 2 other secondary teachers will attend to another course specifically for this stage. In a second phase, a primary school teacher and a secondary teacher will attend to a partner school in Denmark to observe how they incorporates the sociocultural context in teaching activities. Other 2 teachers of primary and one from secondary will visit a partner school in Sweden to observe the use of new technologies in the classroom: digital whiteboards and iPads.
The organization of the project will be carried out through a working group composed of the project participants and to arrange the the organization of the mobilities, evaluation and dissemination of results.
The expected impact is mainly to develop around the school the "teaching and learning of entrepreneurs", which implies changes in teaching methods, types of activities, evaluation and qualification of the activities and involvement of families.
The long-term benefits of the project are mainly (a) the implementation of a methodology which is expected to end with school failure detected in the center, (b) motivate and involve students more closely, (c) improve relationships with families, (d) bring students to the national and international entrepreneurial world, (e) future strategic partnerships with European schools, (f) to contact associations for entrepreneurs in the area.
