Kortesalmi border guard stations building 6 (Kortesalmi border guard station’s building 6)

The project was intended to contribute to the equipping of the Kuusamo border guard station, which was becoming international. Using the previous projects funding, it was not possible to renovate and improve the heating efficiency of Kortesalmis building number 6 or to convert the family residences to joint accommodation and social facilities. A separate project application was created for this purpose. 50 percent of the project funding was received from the European Regional Development fund and 50 percent from the Finnish Border Guard. Achievements: The buildings floor plan changes were completed as planned, the heating insulation of the building was improved, and the ventilation system was replaced with an energy-efficient one. The surface structures were also renewed. The useful life and value of the building has increased with the renovation.
