Keep Calm and Love Culture is a youth Project within Erasmus+ Program/ Key Action 1 that implies the implementation of 2 transfrontalier volunteering mobilities covering 7 months each. They will be hosted in the city of Arad/ Romania. The participants are 16 youngsters from Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and Turkey. Among them we have selected a number of 8 EVS volunteers with fewer opportunities (‘Economic Obstacles’).Project Period: 15th January 2016- 15th September 2017 (20 months)Period of the 2 EVS mobilities:A1: 1ST March 2016 – 30th September 2016A2: 1ST October 2016- 30th April 2017The consortium :The coordinating Organisation : Centrul Municipal de Cultura Arad/ ROThe host organization: EDUCATIO Arad/ROThe sending Organisations:1. To develop antreprenorial and cultural expressivity competences among 16 EVS volunteers from the 4 sending countries throughout their service (7 months).2. To increase the independence and active participation of the targer group youth within the frame of cultural policies in the host community for 14 months (A1+A2)3. To stimulate synergies between the public sector and the nongovernmental sector in the field of cultural and youth policies in Arad County for the whole life duration of the project.The volunteering schedule:1.Keep Calm and Love International Art Festivals: support activities for the promotion and organization of 6 International Art Festivals launched and coordinated by the applicant organization. Essentially, each EVS volunteer will actively take part in complete cycles of local intervention: planning, preparation, visibility/ promotion, organization/ facilitation, stakeholder’s engagement, communication with the audience (youth primarely), guest services, monitoring/evaluation2. Keep Calm and Join Erasmus+ Artoteque: includes 2 subcategories that will be implemented with the participation of at least 20 youngsters from Arad that face financial difficulties. The activities propose: handmade crafts, creative recycling, reconditioning old furniture, experimental art workshops and the creative exploitation of alternative spaces in the city3.Keep Calm and Learn Foreign Languages: foreign language/ English language interactive/ nonformal coursesThe volunteering program represents a way to stimulate creativity, active citizenship and an independent lifestyle among the EVS volunteers who are passionate about art and culture, but don’t have any professional related skills. The project contains preparation and support components, a plan for risk prevention connected with the themes and issues we address and the participants’ profile. As a long term result, the mobilities will increase the chaces of social inclusion and the prospects for employment/ freelance work among the involved EVS volunteers. Concerning the project promoters, Keep Calm and Love Culture stimulates their collaboration and offers an example of good practice for synergies between cultural/public/nongovernamental/ private actors.
