Project "Kamchatka 2" will continue common cooperation of 2 organizations - Zemgale NGO Centre and Bistrinsky Nature Park (Latvia and Russia). Cooperation will ensure volunteer Janis Poikans to be hosted in Russia (Kamchatka region, Esso city) for 12 months. Aim of the project is to use non-formal education methods, to develop and strengthen active cooperation of young people as well as involvement of volunteers into questions related to environmental protection as well as to develop intercultural cooperation and tolerance.During past 10 years Bistrinsky Nature Park has been hosting more than 40 volunteers from 9 different countries. It is average 4 - 6 volunteers annually. Volunteers are involved in different positions - working in tourist information center, tasks related to development of infrastructure, educational environmental activities for children, scientific researches (ornitology, botanics etc.) and individually developed plan for activities. Volunteers have a possibility to implement personal initiatives.In the result of the project volunteer Janis Poikans will gain knowledge in field of environment protection and management in one of the worlds' most unique nature parks. This experience will give possibility to take part in different projects in different nature parks working with multicultural team. During 12 months volunteer will have a chance to adopt to new conditions, unusual situations, working with volunteers and staff members of different nationalities. It will help volunteer to become more adaptable to new situations.
