Jyderup Folk High School is a new folk high school, we have been open since august 2013, but we are building ontop of the 200 year old tradition of Folk High Schools in Denmark. Then and now the main purpuse is non formal adult education, to ensure active citizens participating in democracy. Jyderup Folk High school offers courses from 1 week to 22 weeks in the following main fields: Politics, Social Entrepreneurship, Glasblowing, Elektronic and Folkmusic. The school is a resisidential school open to all aldults (min. age 18 years). We would like to host one EVS volunter to join our school for the spring and autum semester. We would like to involve the volunteer in the daily life of the school with a focus on the communication. Besides there will be opportunity to develop an individualproject within the frame of the school. The project could include making workshops for student and the local commuity, it could be an exchange project with their home country, working with the refugee which we also host or work on the sustanability profile of the school. As orgainsation we have a big network and can provide a platform for many different types of projects. The stay at Jyderup Folk High School will give the volunteers an unik possibility to develop project managment skills and social skills with a diveres student group. The EVS volunteer will bring the european perspective into our school, and encurage our students to engage further in european activities and foster active participation at european level.
