PROJECT
FINISHED
Scout groups from Ulm (Germany), Valladolid (Spain) and Velenje (Slovenia) will participate in this project. Those three groups are all members of the international scout movement. Kids and young people who are at least 10 years old can participate. We want to invite especially socially disadvantaged persons, through cheap participating fees and individual support. Alltogether 60 persons will participate in this project.
We want to support and improve the horizon and culture competence of all participants with this youth exchange between three nations of the EU. The kids and young adults but also their leaders will have to cope with two other cultures. They will get to know the differences but also similarities between the different participating countries and through that, they will be able to reduce prejudices and barriers. 60 persons from Slovenia, Spain and Germany will meet each other in Spain to take a close look at democracy, the European Union, climate change, environment, religion and culture.
The youth exchange whiche will take place from the 9th to the 21st of August 2015 will be the main acticity within this project. We will organize a camp close to Valladolid, where our Spanish exchange partners come from. The participants have the chance to take a closer look at other nations and cultures but will also get a better knowledge about the environment and the climate change. After that we will get to know Toledo with its three different religions and their daily lifes with each other. Then the parrallels to the modern Europe will be shown. We will stay at a hostel there. Within the last stop, the participants will be staying with host families in Valladolid. The kids and young people will have the chance to get to know the daily life of Spanish families through this.
This main activity will be prepared and followed up with different activities. 5 different activities will take place before the youth echange. The language skills will be improved, the participants will take a close look at the European Union and their own culture but will also get to know the other partcipating organzations. Therefore the kids and young adults will be able to analyze the main topics of this project more closely in the main activity.
All of this shall be communicated in a relaxed and creative learning environment through discussions, debates, workshops and workinh groups. Additionally there will be physical activities as well. With all this there shall be an exchange of experiences and possibilities within the work with children and young adults. Furthermore the language skills shall be improved thourgh courses and personal interactions. The particiapants will have a more open-minded and cosmopolitan behavior. Through that they will be courious about other cultures and new things. Additionally the knowledge about the European Union will be increased. The participants will notice their environment more frequently and will be treating it well, because they will know the global connection of the climate change. Finally we hope that this is the beginning of a long-lasting, international friendship between us and our project partners ind Spain and Slovenia.
