Jugend, Vielfalt, Umweltweltschutz und Zukunft als Unionsbürger
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

We have dealt with 59 adolescents aged 15-26 years in a multilateral project (D, F, PL, H, LT) on the theme "Youth, diversity, environmental protection and future of the Union's citizens". The accommodation was in a hostel. As project location we have picked us Stralsund with its European protected areas, renewable energy, coastal and water protection. Young people have the situation of the environment and environmental policy in their home countries and has been present in each other's project. While the project was group work in workshops on EU policy rather than environmental, energy and sustainability, sustainable energy, Ernergiesparen, climate change, ecology of the Baltic Sea, diversity of marine life in Ozeanum Stralsund and Natura 2000, the European network of protected areas. To deepen the theme took a cruise in the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park, a strategy game with migration and Geo-coaching in the nature reserve, a bike ride through the national park "Darß" instead. Program partners were, among others the National Park Ranger, adventure educators, Greenpeace and the Environmental Office North e.V. in Stralsund. We have together with them the problems and causes of climate change and pollution of the seas, especially in our countries (France, Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Hungary) researched, but also provides us with an overview of Europe. Young people have relationships between private and social action and the consequences that accrue to people and the environment recognized. Understanding and appreciation of other cultures was aroused. All participating young people were motivated to seek dialogue and exchange with other cultures. The young people from different countries have worked together in intercultural groups. By getting to know other customs and cultures any existing prejudices were broken down by a good positive experience. a positive attitude towards Europe was achieved by recognizing the importance of shared values and the recognition of regional peculiarities. The project has the tolerance towards minorities promoted among young people and clear limits to the radical right. The project participants were assisted in the acquisition of key competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes) for their personal development. Participants were able to learn active European citizenship only with several countries. To achieve a 'Europe for citizens "we have brought European citizens / inside of different nationalities and languages, as well as under-represented and disadvantaged groups closer together and given an opportunity to participate actively in the project and the issues addressed. Participants will report on the project and the results of their localities; also press work, public presentations / exhibitions happened. The project was to build and improve a network between the partner municipalities and has developed measures involving the local community (associations, voluntary groups, institutions, schools, political representatives etc.).
