For more than 14 years, the YMCA participates in European programs to promote awareness of European consciousness of young people within its youth work.The plan is another project year from September 2016 to July 2017 .Every year a young person of another European country takes part in a new project.The implementation of the project takes mainly place in the house "Jugend am Muenster " . A widest possible range of activities intended to give the participant the greatest possible insight into the work of a youth organization. This includes participation in the youth cafe management team: (Training / Supervision of German Volunteers), organization of the lunch table for students and dealing with the problems of young participants.In addition, the volunteer is involved in the working group “culture” (organizing cultural events in the house) , and in the artistic- cultural youth work TEN SING ( teenager singing ) . Project goal: rehearsing a stage- performance with 30 - 40 young people, taking into account the group process . Social skills, understanding of democracy.Camps for children and adolescents: Educational Participation in structured prepared vacation days in summer and winter. Participation in weekly group lessons for children and adolescents.Furthermore, the volunteer in the project will be a part in „Youth Parliament " of the city of Ulm , editing youth policy and local political issues.The Volunteer is thoroughly prepared for his application through a pre-departure training and after arrival in the different activities. Regular held staff meetings with the professional staff of the house, weekly meetings and feedback sessions, active participation in the meetings of the volunteer Café team and the organization team of TEN SING, help the volunteer constructively in getting in the work processes. In all working fields it is made to the interests and abilities of the volunteer reference.
