The public youth work in Markt Goldbach has been cooperating in the frame of EVS projects for many years. The local municipality decided to invite the volunteer from the partner region in France (Calvados). As in the years before the Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken will be the coordinating organization but the international partnership has been changed. The volunteer will be sent and supported by the MJC Vire (also from Calvados). The aim is to deepen the cooperation between the two regions in the field of youth work and possible to organize new projects. The volunteer from Calvados will come in September 2015 for 12 months to Goldbach and will spend his/her EVS in the local school and the youth centre. In the school the volunteer will be involved in the afternoon childcare where he/she can also propose some language animation activities and other games. The youth centre is open place where young people come regularly to spend their afternoon. He/she can there play, do handcrafts or sports with the young visitors. After an orientation phase the volunteer will have the possibility and time to propose his own projects. In the centre the volunteer can bring his own skills to spend with the youngsters their free time in creative and active way. During school holidays the youth centre offers different activities for local children and youth. Both of the institutions as well as the volunteer are very involved in the life of the community. The volunteer will get a flat in the city hall and will be supported by the city mayor and his wife (the mentor). The volunteer will be very involved in the local community, will help by the local events (like family day, carnival). The presence of the French volunteer will be very visible and wanted in the community. One of the planned results of the project is that the volunteer will collect the experience and that he/she will be aware of his/her skills in working with children and youth. The volunteer should learn to use his/her talents and to develop some activities as well as learn about the pedagogy, work with children und youth and the nonformal learning. For the local municipality it is important to deepen the partnership with Calvados and to have a young and motivated person in the team (with fresh ideas). Goldbach is a small community, the volunteer will be there well know and there will be many opportunities to that the inhabitants will get to know the EVS and his/her background. Possibly this ideas can be put into actions and activities, like projects or during the european Youth Week. This is how the volunteers from Unterfranken will inform youth about possibilities for them to take part in projects abroad.
