"JAMP: Join Art-Make Peace"
Start date: Sep 5, 2016, End date: May 4, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project “JAMP: Join Art - Make Peace” will invite young people from Lithuania and Spain to join an active discussion about the integration of refugees in both countries. The aim of the project is to encourage young people to explore the topic of immigration and refugees through expressions of street culture. 20 highly motivated youngsters (10 from each country) aged 18-30 and 4 leaders (2 from each country) will take part in the project. All the youngsters are part of already existing informal groups; Lithuanians are part of street dance group and Spanish are members of youth center. All the participants have less opportunities to travel and face social and economical difficulties. Both partners come from small towns in the province of the country; Silla in Spain and Kuršėnai in Lithuania. We will communicate in the language of street culture: street dance, music and graffiti. Participants of the project will create shadow theatre performances to forward the main idea of the project – tolerance to people of other nations – to local communities and society as a whole. After the exchange they will create graffiti in their towns on the topic of tolerance. Local town communities will be involved in the process as well. The project will invite young people to unite under the motto “Join art - make peace”.
