JAKIN - Evaluation Tool for the Impact of Formal and Non-formal Training within Enterprises and its' Contribution to the Development of Intellectual Capital

The JAKIN project aims at the reinforcement of knowledge management and the introduction of qualitative and quantitative indicators in order to evaluate the impact of formal and informal learning within companies. This project responds to the fact that individual companies must increasingly be able to harness employee development (human, structural & relational) in order to increase the quality and competitiveness of their organisation. Following an initial analysis of the current status of knowledge management within companies in the participating partner countries, the project will develop a tool for the assessment of formal and non-formal learning and training in companies. This development phase will be followed by an experimental application phase (within selected companies) and the eventual launch of the newly developed assessment tool. The end results of the project will be made available via a dedicated project website and on CD-Rom, with longer term commercialisation also being considered by the partnership. Dissemination of the results will comprise a mailing of the end product (demonstration version) to selected networks in the partner countries, awareness-raising via the project website and a final project dissemination conference. The target group for the project includes owners, managers and senior staff, responsible for the management of human resources, within all types of company (any size and any field of activity). The project will also focus upon enhancing social dialogue between managers, public authorities and social partners.
